#7. Art Day

Art Day is a holiday set aside for the interpretation and creation of art. On this day, all you have to do is create something. Take a picture, draw, paint, sculpt, anything. Or simply go to an art museum and take in the wonders of artists past. Maybe you're not the most creative person. That's okay. Find something that inspires you, and ask yourself how it could be considered art. Though this holiday is an important day, it requires no decorations aside from your own creations. Share them with the world and look at others' work. Have fun with what you do. Instead of eating inside at work, buy some chalk, grab some friends, and eat sandwiches while drawing on the sidewalk. Art Day is celebrated in mid-spring because spring symbolizes new beginnings, and art always starts fresh. Art Day came about around the time of the Modern Art Era. This period brought about some of the most revolutionary artists of all time such as Salvador Dali, Diego Rivera, Norman Rockwell, and much much more. Without new ideas and expressions, we would never have Art Day. In conclusion, Art Day is really about self-expression and the importance of new artistic ideas that could bring about the next big boom in the creative world.

First of all, I'd petition that we wouldn't have school that day, or that we wouldn't have a regular block schedule. I'd actually prefer to have school and be able to spend all day in one classroom; I'd spend it in one of the art rooms. (The school has better art facilities than I have at home.) I'd get a really big canvas, at least the size of one of the art tables, and smear acrylic paints all over it. (I'd be sure to wear old clothes that day so I wouldn't have to worry about being messy.) My painting would be abstract because I think it would be fun to try painting randomly on a big canvas and see what it turns out like. (Nice holiday!)

Let's see I really appreciate the concept of this holiday!!! It inspires a sense of beauty in us that we do not often look for. Taking time out of our busy lives to create beauty is something the whole community could apprecite. I love how very fitting the holiday fits into the rebirth of spring. Its almost an allegory for spring and the timing around May is absolutely perfect. Although I'm not much of an artist, I could totally go for a box of chalk with friends and head out for some fun. This holiday evokes a lot of wonderful memories of getting the hell out of school and freedom! Excellent choice and be sure to recommend this holiday to celebrate before we do pop culture day that first block recommended instead of us.

This is a pretty cool holiday you invented. Art day would really bring out the creativity in the world. I would go by an expensive camera and choose a theme or topic and take pictures all across Minnesota. I would take all the pictures I took and colage them together. It would also be awesome if the whole community decorated the town with funky art. Art day would realy fit good in Spring because of the warm weather and nature coming back to life. I would have a lot of fun celebrating this holiday, good idea.
